ABOUT THE WINGS
Set to begin play for the 2024-2025, WINGS Academy will enter its first season in NAPHL. The WINGS based in Ottawa is recruiting players motivated to improve their game and play in this program before they move on to a higher level of hockey or Education Programs. The focus of the recruiting efforts is on players looking for Junior hockey opportunities and NCAA/U-Sports placement down the road. The structure of the program playing in the NAPHL will give them plenty of exposure to Junior and University scouts. Many players need time to develop, and this program gives them an opportunity to do that until they are 18 years old.
PROGRAM
The focus of the WINGS program will be on player development through the week with practice and off ice training. They play Weekend Showcase games and Regular season games. They will enter 6 showcases in the NAPHL (4 games per), while additional home and way games throughout Ontario, Quebec, and the Eastern United States. In addition, they will be invited to play in the United States Prospects Hockey League- Junior level Elite (USPHL) and the New England Fall Prep Hockey League (NEFPHL). This will round out a 40-50-game competitive schedule.
